Some new backgrounds

The photo I used to make this was taken at the circus.
This photo I used is one of a sunset on the Chesapeake Bay

I made this plaid from a photo of deer about a 10 feet away from our campsite in Newport News.

I know that all I've been talking about this past week is my backgrounds. So I am finished with all the backgrounds in my first set of backgounds except for one. So by Monday they should be posted. As I've said before, I've been working on some plaid backgrounds, I made a new one today and I will post the plaids that I've made so far. If you like them just let me know and I'll try to figure out how to put them up there so that they can be downloaded. I don't mind as long as credit is given.

Background Papers

So yesterday I missed my blog because I was feeling really lousy. That's why I hate cold weather. Being sick causes a ripple effect. First I'm sick then the kids then the fiancee.

Well I know that's not what you're here to read about. So I'll be on with it.

The other day I wrote about a background paper I made that was purple and plaid. I also wrote about making corresponding papers. Now I also want to make a collection of plaids. I think that if you have the right colors in your template plaid is a beautiful background. So to update I am going to make a collection of both plaid back grounds now and also corresponding papers to go with each plaid so that you can choose. The reason I chose to start this project is because its easy and fun to do.

I made my first background paper last week when I first started the whole digi scrapping. I got the tutorial from DSP http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/.

Anyways, I really like taking my own pictures and turning them into the stripes and then making a plaid background. My first one was originally of a photo taken while we were camping in late September. In the original picture there were deer walking about 10 feet away from our campsite through the woods. So I turned it into a plaid background. I used it for my first challenge background on DSP. I've made many backgrounds with just stripes, not really sure how I feel about them yet. I still have some tweeking to do. So the one that I made tonight was of a picture of vibrant blues, purples, and redish pinks. I turned it into plaid and it is absolutely gorgeous. I am now trying to make some corresponding backgrounds to go with it. Maybe as I go along I will someday try making some elements to go with it. But I will stick with this for now.
Night everyone.

Posting blogs and Layouts

So I have decided that I will post during the week only for now because the kids are so busy getting into trouble on the weekends that I don't have time to even get on the computer most of the time. So since the kids are at school it's much quieter here during the day.

I have completed two layouts already that I posted on the DSP website and within the next few days I will post them here as well. The layouts are still a little plain but as I get better at this digital scrapbooking hopefully they will look as good as the ones I've seen so far.

Day 1 of my scrapbooking blog

I'm just starting this for the first time, so as time goes on I will get a better at it. I won't be posting any Layouts today but hopefully soon I will. Don't really have any that I have finished and I have to write the credits for them first because I got alot of freebies that I used and mixed and matched.

First off I want to say thank you to the website http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/ for the inspiration to start this blog. I say this because the first time I went on their site I posted my intro and like 3 or 4 people immediately wrote me back. The people on that site are so friendly. I also found some of the people who are members of that site and I checked out their blogs for the ones that had them. They were very interesting and helpful.

Secondly, I love the paper scrapping but this digital scrapbooking is awsome. It's less mess and if you're smart most of it is free if you look hard enough and give the credit and don't try to steal someone elses ideas and creations.

Well this is it for now. I have to go do some house work.
