I'm so excited......

For a while now, I've been trying to make a layout that is good enough to be picked for layout of the day by DSP. I just couldnt figure out what made a layout get chosen. I still haven't figured out, and no I didn't get LOTD. What I did get though is........wait for it........chosen as the featured layout for designer at DSP, Lauren Bavins Pick of the Pack on her blog. That is even better than LOTD. It just brightened up a hellacious day. Is that even a word? Any ways here's the LO that Lauren picked.

Lifes been crazy

I only have 2 days left till the next semester of nursing school starts. I never really got to create anything while on this break. Shopped for the first 8 days in a row for christmas because we were so busy before what with the hubby working and me going to school full time. So I had to get everything done because Christmas was the next week.

Christmas was awesome. Got a new computer, kids got everything they wanted, and Red got everything he wanted. Then the whole clean up process and trying to catch up on sleep got to me. Now two days before school starts for the second semester and things aren't any better. I was supposed to get my financial aid voucher two weeks ago and they didnt get it to me until this past thursday, and now I have to wait for my books to arrive until next friday which means I will be unprepared for class for an entire week. I am so PISSED because of it. And the schools only excuse was that they missed me. But I am still held accountable for being prepared and knowing what i need to know for class. How am I supposed to do that with NO books???????

A bit of a break

So here I am 8 weeks into nursing school and I am still alive and kicking. They told us that if we made it thru the first 8 weeks we would be ok. I will admit it is kicking my butt but I am passing and doing good. I'm more tired than I used to be but I'm sucking it up and dealing with it. Other things getting in the way are family issues. My stepdaughter is becoming a bit bold if I may say so myself. We found out last week that she has been texting on her cell phone at school everyday since the first day of school so she is on total restriction for 30 days, no phone, tv, computer, or ipod. Then 5 days into we caught her on her computer at 630 in the morning playing games so that is gone for 60 days. Then yesterday we found out that my stepson is picking and choosing what homework he wants to do and when he wants to do it. Plus he brought home several bad grades yesterday. But that is easily fixed, he was doing his homework in his bedroom but now he has to be back up at the dining room table doing it and agenda checked everyday. The youngest has a very bad attitude, he thinks he's the boss and nothing we do gets thru to him. I'm not really sure what to do. But his teachers say he is very good in school never gives any problems and does his work. They wanted to move him up a grade but he's too young still. Well that's all about life right now.

Well that had nothing to do with scrapping, but this does. I know I haven't made anything in a while, and I probably won't have time until I go on Christmas break so please bear with me. I have a few things twirling around in this brain of mine and it will be worth the long wait. What you'll probably see is a few paper packs for winter and Christmas. Maybe some new years stuff and some overlays. I loved making those last time and they were a real big hit.

Been a bit busy

I hope everyone is enjoying their last few weeks before school starts. Or maybe school has already started for you. If so I hope it's going okay for you. Nursing school started on Aug 17 and I don't think I had a chance to breath until yesterday when I took my first test.

Hopefully I will find some time to open up photoshop to design, but for now I need to focus on school. If anyone wants to throw me out some suggestions maybe I can work on one thinkg at a time. I won't be able to throw it out there it may take me a week or two but I could slowly work on it. Just let me know.

Yay!!!!. Finally, I can breath for a little bit and work a little slower from now on. I've got four awesome freebies. 3 paper packs and 1 set of overlays. WOOHOO!!!!!!

coming Along

so how is everyone lately? Me, I'm fantabulous. I am almost ready for school to start. Which it starts next Monday. YAY!!!!!! I've already got my books, just waiting on clinical uniforms. Can't wait for this weekend. I am going camping for a few days for a last little bit of relaxation time before monday. I've written about my project of painting my son's room. Well I am almost finished I just have to finish painting the tv stand. We decided to paint his room a darker blue and paint his furniture white with the exception of his bed. He wanted a red room but when we painted the kitchen red we decided we would never paint another red wall in our house. So we painted his headboard and footboard red just to please him. So I will be finished with painting hopefully by tomorrow evening.

Well as I promised i would have some freebies before I started school. I have several things that I am working on and they will be posted by Thursday. I have few final things to do with them. I can't wait to share them with you all. I think they will be a hit. Well I must be going I have some things I have to drop off at UPS and USPS. Plus I have to pick up my stepdaughter from a birthday sleepover in a little while.

Oh yeah, and be on the look out. I am going to redecorate my blog with some of my papers.
